Cabin Fever (2024)
Honoring nature’s resilience and offering a new perspective, capturing the serene beauty of the Southeast USA’s iconic Spanish moss and vibrant autumn landscapes.

Stepping Back to See the Story
Unlike previous prints in the series, where RVs took center stage, this scene invites viewers to step back and observe. The cabin, tucked farther into the landscape, feels like a destination waiting to be discovered—a retreat where memories are made, and stories are cherished.
In the foreground, a creek flows gently through the scene, inviting you to imagine the soothing sound of water running over cobbled stones. The vibrant fall colors and rustling leaves engage all your senses.
And if you look closely, you’ll find the tradition continues: a heart subtly hidden in the clouds, a reminder of the love and connection found in the great outdoors. This vantage point, looking into the scene, creates a sense of curiosity and possibility.

This year’s print is inspired by one of nature’s most remarkable organisms: Spanish moss. Known for its ability to thrive in challenging conditions, Spanish moss draws its nutrients from the air, creating a symbiotic relationship with its surroundings. Its muted sage greens, draped gracefully over branches, pair perfectly with the vibrant reds and oranges of fall in this scene, creating a stunning autumn palette.
For me, Spanish moss has always been a fascination—its resilience, beauty, and quiet strength. It doesn’t harm its host but instead thrives by adapting to its environment. Did you know that, historically, it was even used to stuff mattresses in the 19th century?
The inspiration for this piece comes from the Southeastern United States, where Spanish moss is a defining feature of the landscape.
