At Camp Courage, the medical team isn’t just staff; they’re family
Lettie was just three years old when she was diagnosed with T-Cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma in April 2020. But in 2023, she wasn’t just a patient—she was a first-time camper at Camp Courage, embracing adventure and making lifelong memories.
Her favorite activities? Swimming and the giant swing. ‘I was nervous at first,’ Lettie admitted, ‘but once I tried it, I loved it!’
For Lettie’s mom, Camp Courage is more than just a camp. ‘It’s special because she gets to take a break from doctors and nurses and just have fun—with the very people who have loved and cared for her so deeply over the years.’
At Camp Courage, the medical team isn’t just staff; they’re family. The same physicians and nurses from the BI-LO Charities Children’s Cancer Center at Prisma Health Children’s Hospital-Upstate who care for these children in the hospital are the ones cheering them on at camp. Here, healing happens beyond hospital walls—one unforgettable moment at a time.
